What is
I-MediCure membership?
You need to be a I-MediCure member to access
certain parts of the site.
All visitors to the website can read messages on the forums and
public diaries.
You need to be a member to:
- ask a question on the
forums
- reply to another post
- edit your message
- delete your message
- start an online diary
- comment on another
member's diary
- receive the weekday
news bulletin
- sign up to health-specific
newsletters.
How can I join?
I-MediCure membership is free and it's easy
to sign
up. You will need to:
- pick a username that
will display next to all your entries
- choose a password of
at least six characters
- have a valid email
address
- give the information
required
- agree to our terms
and conditions.
A confirmation email will then be sent to
the address you have given. You must click on the link within that
email to validate your account.
Once you have activated your account, you will be able to log in
with your user details.
How do I cancel my account?
You can cancel your membership at
any time by emailing: contact@imedicure.com

in the profile pages of the site.
You are
either looking at your profile or another member's.
To access
your profile, log in and click on your username.

How did I get here?
You logged in and clicked on your username or diary entry.
Profile
Use to change details such as your
password.
Change profile
- Update your chosen
fields.
- Click in the boxes
to toggle what displays when others click on your username.
- Reconfirm your email
address if this has changed.
- Press Change.
You can upload an image to display with
your username.

pages
- Profile
change your password and preferences.
- My
diary add, edit and delete diary entries and
comments.
- Newsletter sign
up to health newsletters of interest.

- Find an image. You
must have permission to use this picture.
- Save it to your PC.
All images should be 60 x 60 pixels.
- Press Browse
to find the image on your PC.
- Select the image.
The path name will appear in the box.
- Press Change.
Change password
- Enter your old password.
- Type in your new
password.
- Type again to confirm.
- Press Change.
What can others see?
After you've made changes, log off to view your public profile.
My diary
This is where you can add, edit
or delete a diary entry and remove comments. To access your diary:
- Log in.
- Click on your username.
- Select My
diary.
Add new entry
- Click on Add
new entry.
- Enter subject and
text.
- Tick Private or Health
centre.
- Press Submit.
You can submit more than one entry per day.
Edit entry
- Click on the entry
you want to change in My diary.
- Click on Edit
entry.
- Edit subject and
text.
- Tick a different
box if you want to change where it is published.
- Press Submit.
Delete entry
- Click on the entry
you want to change in My diary.
- Click on Delete
entry.
- Confirm you wish
to delete. Any comments will also be deleted.
Once deleted, entries cannot be retrieved.
Remove comments
- Click on the entry
you want to change in My diary.
- Tick the boxes next
to comments you want to remove.
- Click on Remove
comments.
- Confirm you wish
to delete. Only the selected comments will be deleted.
Once deleted, comments cannot be retrieved.
Newsletter
Use to sign up for health updates
and weekday health news.
You can also subscribe/unsubscribe from I-MediCure communications
and third party emails.
- Log in.
- Click on your username.
- Select Newsletter.
- Amend your details.
- Press Update.
You will receive an email confirming your
changes.

This includes poems.

We cannot
and do not review every diary before it appears on
the site.
I-MediCure
operates a 'notice and take-down' policy: if I-MediCure
notices or is made aware of a post that contravenes
these rules, I-MediCure reserves the right to amend
or remove the diary entry or comment.
Contact
us if you feel a comment or entry violates these
rules.
You are
responsible for the content of your entries and I-MediCure
does not accept any liability for the content or accuracy
of your messages.
By using
the diaries you acknowledge and agree to these rules.

The diaries are now part
of the main I-MediCure website. They sit alongside our content, news
and support group pages.
- You can find the latest
diary entries on depression under the Diaries tab at this
page.
- You can find the latest
diary entries on pregnancy under the Diaries tab at this
page.
There are still separate sections for the
different health topics such as pregnancy and depression, but to
publish your diary there, you must now select that option when you
add a diary entry. Also linked to your membership are:
- Discussion (forums).
- Newsletters.
Getting started
If you click on a username or diary
entry, you will be taken to a different section of
the site with only three tabs at the top.
- Member profile for
another user: Profile, Member
diary, Discussions. These
pages allow you to view information about other members, and
read and comment on their diaries.
- My pages: Profile,
My diary, Newsletter.
These pages allow you to control your diary and change your
signup options.
What you can do depends on whether
you are a member, whose diary you are viewing and whether you are
logged in.
I'm not a member
Click on Member diary
to read that member's diary. You have no access to My pages. Only
members can log in. To become a member you need to sign
up.
I'm logged in but
it's not my diary
Click on Member diary
to read and leave comments on that member's diary.
It's my diary
In My diary you
can add, edit and delete entries as well as remove comments.
You can only view My diary by logging
in, then clicking on your own username or diary entry.
Can I still make diary entries
private?
Yes, this is one of the options when you add a diary entry. Other
members cannot view private entries.
Latest diaries box
Q. The times don't match the times of the latest post.
A. There is a cache delay of 15 minutes on these boxes only. To
view the latest diaries, click on the diaries tab for that health
centre.

our main I-MediCure website. They sit alongside our content, news
and support group pages.

New topic: use this
to start a discussion if you are asking a new question. Your question
will appear immediately.
Post reply: use this to respond to messages
on an existing discussion. Replies are posted at the end of the
discussion and appear immediately.
Viewing discussions
When you select a topic, you will go to the first message in that
topic.
To go to the latest message in a topic, click on the highest page
number, eg 2 of 2, and scroll to the end.
Can I edit messages?
After submitting your message, you will see it with the options
to:
- Edit or delete your
message if there have been no replies.
- Edit your message if
there are other replies.
Edited messages will also display the time
of update.
You can edit your messages at any time. When you are logged in,
the Edit entry option will appear when you
locate your message in a topic.
Latest discussions box
Q. The times don't match the times of the latest post.

view the latest discussion, click on the discussion tab for that
